Taiwanese manufacturer Acer has unveiled a series of LED monitors as part of its S1 series that are claimed to be the slimmest in the world. The monitors vary from 13mm to 15mm in thickness and their diagonal sizes vary from 18.5-inch to 23-inch.

The four devices are laden with features like full HD resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, high contrast ratio (12,000,000:1), 5ms response time, VGA port and DVI with HDCP protection. HDMI feature is available only on the bigger models.

All the four models are associated with Acer's EcoDisplay feature such as EnergyStar 5.0 that guarantees the absence of any hazardous substances like halogen gases, mercury, PCV and BFR. It also consumes up to 68% less energy as compared to conventional LCD screens.

Acer has provided 3 year return to base warranty and priced the models between £120 and £170. The 19-inch model will cost £120 whereas the 23-inch model carries a price tag of £170.
