Resul Poorkutty’s is the Oscar winning sound engineer, now he will be a voting member of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences among the 135 artists and executives throughout the world.

Resul made India proud for his incredible contribution as a sound engineer and through the movie, ‘Slum Dog Millionaire’, he grabbed an Oscar too. Now, nothing can be more impressive than his selection among the very few artists and executives in AMPAS as voting members.

He has been invited by the academy to join as a voting member, which means, now he is the one among the rare 135 members, who can decide which film should win and why.

On the occasion, he happily adds, “It was in the coming for quite a while but the actual announcement of the list was certainly great news for me.”

Resul further adds, “This is bigger than the Oscar. Becoming a voting member means that I’ll be part of the committee that decides which film wins and why. That’s a huge recognition for Indian cinema.”

He is also a part of Rajini starrer Kollywood movie ‘Endhiran’ and it is considered to be the biggest projects of the Indian cinema till date.

Resul adds further, “The film has a different soundscape. It’s a futuristic concept and there’s a lot to explore in terms of sound.”
