The nightingale Of India, Lata Mangeshkar reminisces the golden moments spent with music maestro, R.D Burman on his 71st birthday anniversary on June27.

When legends remember the great ones, it creates something extraordinary and limitless. Lovingly called ‘Pancham da’ was the heartthrob of the old and gold musical times. His contribution to the Indian music industry is phenomenal.

 Lata Mangeshkar fondly remembers Pancham da and says on Twitter, “It's pancham's birth anniversary today... i really miss you (Pancham) and your music pancham... you are matchless... yours didi.”

Lataji further adds, “I knew him from the time he would run around in his shorts. He was very naughty.”

The Lataji and R.D Burman combination created some everlasting songs like 'Bahon mein chale aao', 'Tere bina jiya jaye na', 'Tune O rangeele' and 'Tujhse naraaz nahin zindagi'.

Lata Mangeshkar holds the great honor of working with S.D Burman as well.

Lataji recollects, “He thrust his autograph book at me when I was recording for his father. Do you know what I wrote in the autograph book? 'Pancham badmashi chhod do' (Stop being naughty) He laughed and ran away.”

After that, I didn't see him for a long time I didn't see him for a long time. He didn't stay much with Burman Dada. He loved his naani and stayed with her more.”

 
The 80 years old singer further reminisces, “when he came to me with his first song Ghar aaja ghir aaye badra in Mehmood's Chote Nawab, I couldn't believe he had grown up."
 
The music maestro is remembered by millions and cherished by the greatest legends of the music industry. Pancham da was born in the year 1939 and was the only singer in Bollywood that time. He married Asha Bhosle in the year 1980. The legend has given music in almost 200 movies and in more than 6 languages.
