A small idea is enough for a creative mascot to fabricate a whole concept out of it. Something similar happened with the film-maker, Rahul Dholakia when he made ‘Lamha’.

The upcoming movie by Rahul Dholakia called ‘Lamha’ is set to hit the theatres on July 16. Every film-maker is pulled by some idea to make a full-fledged concept.

The idea for making the movie came to Rahul’s mind when he once interacted with some Kashmiri students at the time of shooting for ‘ Parzania’ (2005).

He adds, “The reason why I decided to make a film on the valley was that during one of the screenings of Parzania, I met a few Kashmiri students. They said Kashmir is a beautiful prison. That's something that caught my attention.”

Meanwhile, the movie has also caught the attention of the film censor board due to some controversial dialogues.

The censor board demanded deletions of words - like sabse from the dialogue duniya ki sabse khatarnak jagah Kashmir (the world's most dangerous place Kashmir) and also farji from farji elections (bogus elections).

While Dholakia feels irritated on all these small controversies and adds, “When troubles like these happen, one gets irritated, angry, annoyed, frustrated on the hypocrisy and multiple standards that our government and our censor board have.”

He further adds, "Either you fight that or you live with that. If you want to live with that then you should not make films like Lamhaa. But if you want to make a film like Lamhaa, be prepared for it and that's what we are doing.”

The movie stars Sanjay Dutt, Kunal Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, and Anupam Kher in the lead roles.

Rahul has earlier proved his talent by making the movie ‘Parzania’ against the backdrop of Gujarat riots and also won national award for it.

He adds, “From Parzania I've learnt that the moment you get into a film with a sensitive topic, you should expect trouble."

So, the film-maker has learnt to jump off the clip and splash into mud of sensitive issues, so let’s hope for his success. His next project is ‘Society’ which stars Dimple kapadia, Om Puri, Seema Biswas and Paresh Rawal. It is a light hearted flick and a satire on society.
