Samsung is witnessing unprecedented success in the sales of its Star model and about 30 million units have been sold since its launch in May 2009.
 
Samsung S5230 or Samsung Star was first announced in March 2009 and in just six months about 10 million units were sold and in one year the sales figure touched 20 million.
 
“We are very pleased with the phenomenal success of the Samsung Star,” the senior vice president of Marketing for the Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, YH Lee was quoted as saying.
 
The company strategic marketing approach in each market is said to be the success of the Star model. About 15 million units were sold in Europe, 3 million in Russia, while China and South America about one million and five million units were sold.
 
“Samsung is aiming to take the lead in the global full touch-screen mobile and dominate the market with our diverse product line up and customised marketing approach, he added.
 
Equipped with advanced features like Java MIDP 2.0, WAP 2.0 browser, Wi-Fi connectivity and 3G network, the phone comes in black, white, and pink colors besides special editions like gold and silver.
