Though the Sony Cybershot DSC-TX5 looks like any other ultra slim camera, with the size slightly bigger than a credit card and a width as small as 17.7mm. It comes under the category of tough cameras that can be used to take pictures under water upto 3 meters, is dust proof as well as shock proof. This camera features a 10.2 megapixel “Exmor R” CMOS image sensor that brings out the full resolving power of the camera’s Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens. It also offers intuitive functions to the multi-purpose touch screen, such as the ability to select the focus point with a simple touch, scroll through images by sliding the finger across the screen and one-touch access to the Menu. Its Optical SteadyShot Image Stabilization function uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect camera shake and automatically compensates to help prevent blur without sacrificing image quality. It contains internal memory worth 45MB and is compatible with Memory Stick Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo, Memory Stick PRO Duo (High Speed) and Memory Stick PRO HG-Duo apart from SD/SDHC/SDXC media.
