Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX70/FX75

Though compact point and shoot cameras are supposed to make photography easy for everyone, it isn’t always the case. Many of them come with controls that can only be understood by the professional, a hobbyist or a complete technophile, who can read through the most difficult of gadgets. With all such people who want to retain the capital letters in the word Simplicity in mind, camera manufacturers came up with touchscreen models. The touchscreen cameras, one of which is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX70, make operation easy and stress free. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX70, for instance, is a 14.2mp and 5x optical zoom camera that comes with touchscreen controls.

Design and Functioning

Outwardly, the solid feeling, pocket-sized Lumix DMC-FX70 has a slim 22.8mm depth and glossy black and silver or black finish. The very bright and fast f2.2 lens is stored compactly within the body when the camera is not in use, and its positioning and eventual prominence ensures, when active, that there's no danger of fingers straying into shot when shooting handheld. The DMC-FX70 adopts an easy to use, large, 3.0 inch 230,000-dot high-resolution LCD with full touch-screen operation. Menus now look clearer and easier to navigate, thanks to the new Display Size option. The POWER O.I.S.(Optical Image Stabilizer), Face Detection, and Intelligent Scene Selector support shooting beautiful movie with ease and the Intelligent Scene Selector automatically switches between Normal, Portrait, Macro, Scenery, and Low Light modes according to the situation to optimize visual quality. New Motion Deblur mode is a comprehensive integration of the Intelligent ISO Control, which automatically adjusts the ISO setting and shutter speed according to the subject’s movement. With the Intelligent Resolution technology outlines, detailed texture areas and soft gradation areas are automatically detected. The outline parts are enhanced effectively to give edges more clearness while giving a moderate accentuation to the texture areas to look more finely detailed. The focal range that it covers is from 24mm to 120mm, which offers high wide angle for shooting landscapes. This camera contains 40MB of internal memory and is compatible with SD/SDHC/SHXC cards.
