Garmin has announced the launch of two mid-range touchscreen models, Oregon 450 and Oregon 450t. These two devices will be offered to the travellers in affordable price ranges.

The Garmin Oregon 450 and Oregon 450t sport a 3-inch colour touchscreen display. And, interestingly, both the sets can be operated using gloves. The new dashboard interfaces in both the models can be selected by the user.

The other features in these two GPS models include a three-axis electronic compass, better track navigation, photo navigation, and barometric altimeter. The sets also provide useful information in exchanging tracks, waypoints, routes and other geocached data with the advanced Garmin GPS systems.

The Garmin 450t is equipped keeping in line with 3D presentation that shows changes in elevation and built-in 100,000:1 scale topographic map of US. The topographic map has many more details like major roads, rivers, lakes, parks, wilderness areas and coastlines. However, the Garmin Oregon 450 lacks the topographic street map feature like the other set.

The users are also provided option for adding map data to the device by having either Windows or Mac OS.

These two Oregon models are expected to be released in the first half next year.

Garmin Oregon 450 is available for $399 (Rs. 19,200 approx.) while Oregon 450t is available at $499 (Rs. 24,000 approx.).
