The Tamil community is not happy with Bollywood actor, Salman Khan attending the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony which is scheduled to start from June 3- 5 in Colombo.
 
On Sunday, the members of Tamil community protested to stop the actor from attending the event.
 
Sharvana, a protestor quoted, "We tried to give him a letter which he did not accept and said that he will attend the award function, so we have burnt photographs here. In case if they attend this function we won't let his films to release here.”
 
Meanwhile, the Tamil film industry has also not supported the idea of organising a gala Indian film event in Sri Lanka. The top Tamil actors like, Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Ajith and Surya has refused to attend the awards.
