Star Cast: Himesh Reshammaiya, Shezaan Treasurywala, Sonal Sehgal

What happens when you throw a slim storyline, fragile plot, some flop actors, good music, and a passable direction? You get the movie, ‘Radio’. Even though Himesh puts up a decent act in his earlier movie, Karzzz, ‘Radio, Love on Air’ puts him back on an off beam frequency. The movie revolves around Himesh who is a hotshot RJ at a radio station. However, his personal life is in turbulence as he gets divorce from his wife Pooja (played by Sonal Sehgal) on the ground of lack of compatibility. The story just gets confusing as the two remains friends for no reasons and the third angle of the trio enters the scene. Shanaya (played by Shenaz Treasurywala) who brings love and liveliness and thus the movie is thrown towards confusion, jealousy, misunderstandings which leave the audiences asking for a breather.

The director Ishan Trivedi, has tried to spoon feed the audience with all the early narration before the actual drama takes place. It first feels funny and then starts to get on your nerves. One more thing, which the director has tried to explore, is the man-woman relationship in a metro which has been portrayed aplenty of times on the screen and the director doesn’t bring anything new on the theme.

Himesh is trying to venture out in the genre of acting but to no remarkable success even in this movie. Sonal Sehgal has put up a decent performance however, her character doesn’t leave much to construe. The only breather is Shenaz Treasurywala who is very good in her role of a lovey-dovey simple girl. Paresh Rawal in his special appearance fails to add any special moment for the movie. Zakir Hussain who plays Shenaz’s father has acted well and even Rajesh Khattar as Himesh’s boss is decent.

The music is too only for the ears of Himesh’s fans. So, to sum up, as the tagline says Radio would be just too complicated for you!
