Former Miss Universe and Bollywood diva Lara Dutta has consented to become the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) goodwill ambassador for Laadli national media awards. The awards are a token of felicitation for all media professionals who have put in their efforts to address women’s and gender issues across India.

The actress has been roped in the second time to be the UNFPA goodwill ambassador from India. The awards are part of the media advocacy efforts of the Laadli campaign by Population First, an NGO working on health, population and gender issues. The former Miss Universe will be seen in a new fit avatar in her latest film Blue. The actress has also taken up a challenging role in ‘Bilo Barbar’ with Shahrukh and Irfan Khan.
