Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori starrer, ‘Kites’ which is scheduled for a worldwide release on Friday will not be screened in Karnataka. The announcement was made by Karnataka’s film association following the claims that the film has ‘violated the regulatory principles of the chamber’.

On Thursday, the committee conducted a special executive meeting after which Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC) announced that Rakesh Roshan’s ‘Kites’ will not be released in any theatre in the state.

Basanth Kumar Patil, president of KFCC, quoted, "The film's release will be detrimental to the interest of Kannada cinema if it is allowed to be screened all over."

The film was scheduled to be screened in more than 90 theatres, exceeding the limit of 24 theatres stipulated in the state which has made the members of KFCC angry.
