Buffalo, who is known for making ridiculously small USB flash drives, has added a new thumbkey to their line with improved storage capacity.

The maximum storage capacity of the drive has been bumped from 8GB to 16GB while still maintaining similar dimensions.

Many people often joke that the USB connector is bigger than the body itself, which is rare for flash drives. The drive (excluding the connector) is all of 5mm big. Otherwise the dimensions are 18mm x 18mm x 8mm. Because of its miniature size the drive is almost invisible when connected. The advantage when connecting the drive to a laptop is that you don’t have to remove it when packing your laptop back into the carry case.

Although it is a novelty item among collectors and people with a sense of humor, it lacks in practicality especially if you happen to have a butter-fly’s memory. But if you are a highly organized person and know where you leave things, you won’t need to spend hours looking for it. Plus, if you happen to use laptops or netbooks, then this is an ideal thumb drive for you.

The other existing capacities are 2GB, 4GB and 8GB and each weighs only 3 grams.
