A new Blackberry Empathy concept phone has been designed by the participants at the Art Center College of Design. This seems to be an appealing design with many more interesting features.

This concept phone is the brainchild of two designers named Kiki Tang and Daniel Yoon.

According to RIM, the sponsor of the project, the contacts are put forth graphically and each of them have an avatar which is bounded by two vibrant colored rings. The inner ring highlights the contact’s previous emotional state while the outer one depicts their present state.

Apart from that, there is an Emotional Health Chart that examines the user’s emotional heath during a specific period. There is an integrated interface which is incorporated with human emotions and social networking capabilities.

The BlackBerry concept phone sports a biometrics ring that is worn to collect “emotional data” from the user. The set has a transparent OLED screen which turns opaque during interaction. Interestingly, the set bears a touchscreen at the front and a QWERTY keyboard at the rear side.
