One of the most popular movies of all time, ‘Top Gun’ is expected to hit the silver screen again. It has emerged that the movie bosses are in the pre-production stage and in talks with the leading Hollywood star, Tom Cruise for the sequel.

Jerry Bruckheimer who produced 1986 blockbuster confirmed that he has been approached to bring back Cruise character of ‘Lieutenant Pete 'Maverick' Mitchell’ to the screen again in the naval aviation drama.

"We were recently approached again to start talking about it but, you know, nothing yet. We kicked around some ideas because the aviation community has completely changed since we made the movie a long time ago. So we have to find a way in and how to incorporate the Maverick character into it," Bruckheimer said.

‘Top Gun’ is the latest in a long line of popular movies which are rumoured to be heading back to the big screen, including ‘Jurassic Park’ and ‘Ghostbusters’.
