Tata Motors are all ready for the launch of their luxury brands, Jaguar and land Rover, on 28 June. The launch will be done at Taj Hotel, Mumbai. These cars are being launched in India just weeks before the launch of its ultra cheap, global brand, Tata Nano.

Tata Motors had acquired these luxury vehicles from the Ford Motor Co for about $2.3 billion during March last year. For the first time Jaguar and Land Rover debut launch is happening together.
The imported cars will be available to Ludhiana and Bangalore after Mumbai.

The Jaguar will be available five models which include the XJ, XX, as well as XF. The Land Rover will be available in two models. Tata Motors have declined for revealing the initial year targets for the sales of these luxury brands.

In UK, Jaguar is available in four models: the Estate, the saloon, the open-top and the coupe. The Land Rover brands abroad are the Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Freelander.
JLR are the first of the luxury cars from the Tata conglomerate. Even though the Jaguar will give Tata Motors a foothold in the premium car segment in India, the Land Rover will be complete with its SUV range that includes Sumo.

Even while the compact cars are clogging the Indian roads and contribute to over two-thirds of 1.5 million auto market, a high margin luxury car is a status symbol amongst India's rich.
