Suzuki Motorcycle India is planning to launch its GSXR 1000cc superbike called Gixxer in sometime soon. The recent report has been based on the buoyant response from the earlier models like the Hayabusa and the Intruder M1800R.

According to reports, the bike company has sold about 150 units till now. It is said that the company will import the new superbike as a CBU. However, there might be two-fold import tax on the units.

The GSX-R1000 is a super bike model from Suzuki's GSX-R series of motorcycles. It came as a replacement for the GSX-R1100 in 2001 and is powered by a liquid-cooled 999 cc inline four-cylinder 4-stroke engine.

Speaking about the model, Atul Gupta, vice president (Sales and Marketing) said, “Suzuki has been delivering superior technology which has been proven worldwide and it now intends to showcase the same in India. With the launch of the two bikes, Suzuki is all set to support the craziest and sportiest young enthusiasts who are looking for these mean machines. We may think about launching more such bikes, which may include GSX-R1000. However, due to confidential reasons, I won’t be able to share the details.”
