Sony Ericsson has come up with a green tag in its newly launched Elm and Hazel phones, which are supposed to reduce the CO2 emissions. Apart from that, the phones come with documentation, which is intended to aware the people about the environmental hazards and the ways to go for a clean environment.

The two new products also enlist some of the dos and donts. Both the sets are made from the recycled materials and free from harmful chemicals. The apps in these phones also encourage the users to walk rather than drive. More to it, there are a lot of cost effective measures including a green calculator and a power adapter to help the set in consuming less power.

Both the Elm and the Hazel sport similar features including onboard GPS, a 5MPcamera and dual band 3G. Apart from that, these devices also come with 280MB of internal memory along with microSD memory cards.

The Hazel set sports a 2.6 inch screen comes in two colour variants including ‘Passionate Rouge’ and ‘Superior Black’. The phone looks like a slider phone.

This latest Sony Ericsson set is expected to hit markets in the second quarter next year. The Elm handset has a slightly smaller screen at 2.2 inches. It comes with also two different colours, ‘Metal Black’ and ‘Pearly Rose’. The phone looks like a candybar.

This set is likely to be available in the first quarter next year.

Both the phones also use a similar type of battery, which gives the phones up to 10 hours of talktime on a GSM network. For the 3G network, the sets can offer up to 4 hours of talktime. However, the exact details are yet to come out.
