The Anil Kapoor production “Shortkut – The Con is On” is the remake of the very famous Malayalam movie ‘Udayananu Tharam’ which stars superstar Mohanlal with Sreenivasan.  The original version of this movie is too good with Mohanlal depicting the role of the struggling director whose story is stolen by Sreenivasan. 

This movie is actually a 100% entertaining tale of scam, deceit, super stardom and the subsequent fall.

It is a story of the trials and troubles of two artists, a struggling director and an actor, and the weird situations faced by both in the pursuit of their tinsel town dreams.

Shekhar (Akshaye Khanna), an aspiring assistant director and Chandu (Arshad Warsi), whose dream is to be a hero, meet each other while struggling to make it in the film industry. While Shekhar is completely gifted and confident, Chandu is a comic character and a non actor who thinks he is God’s gift to Bollywood!

Chandu steals the prized script of Shekhar and is projected to super stardom. After this incident, Shekhar is completely dejected and depressed. This causes his wife Mansi (Amrita Rao) to leave him. The completely broken Shekhar waits for a chance to avenge Chandu.
