The Mumbai court rejected the bail application of Bollywood star, Shiney Ahuja, on Sep 11. The actor is accused of raping his teenaged domestic help at his home in Andheri West on June 14.

According to the actor’s lawyer, Shrikant Shivade, the actor’s bail plea, which was pending before the Mumbai sessions court, has been transferred to a fast track court. The charges against the actor will be framed on September 23 as per his lawyer.

The prosecution lawyer intends to complete the trial within two weeks and hence would not be examining all the twenty four witnesses who are lined up for the case. After the charges are framed, the trial shall begin on a regular day-to-day basis by month-end.
Till the case is decided, Shiney will continue in judicial custody at the Arthur Road Jail. In case if the charges against him are proved in the court, he is liable to face a minimum of seven-year jail sentence.
