Actor Sanjay Dutt took the decision that he will no more endorse the tobacco and gutkha brands. The actor is also working hard to quit smoking.

 

It is reported that the Doctors for You and Maharashtra Association of Resident Doctors (MARD) wrote to the actor asking him not to endorse tobacco and other Gutkha products.

 

Sanjay Dutt Productions CEO Dharma Oberoi said, “In the next two months, Dutt’s contract with the gutkha brand is getting over and 99 % he won’t renew it.”

 

Dr Pankaj Chaturvedi of Tata Memorial Hospital said, “We hope more people are motivated to kick tobacco habit.”

 

A letter has also been forwarded to actress Malaika Arora Khan by an NGO requesting her not to endorse Chaini Khaini.

 

Crusade Against Tobacco chairman Vincent Nazareth said, “We have send copy of the letter to Hill Road Police station and BEST. If she doesn’t revert in seven days we plan to have silent protest outside her house.”
