Samsung has announced the Wave II smartphone after the launch of its Omnia 7 Windows Phone 7-based device.

The Wave II smartphone will run on Samsung's Bada OS and encompass the TouchWiz User Interface like the original Wave handset.

Wave II will sport a bigger screen of 3.7 inch as compared to the previous set, which had a 3.3 inch AMOLED display. Apart from that, the set will have 1GHz processor and a 5 MP camera with high definition videos.

Samsung Wave II is expected to be in the UK by the end of this year. However, the network carriers are yet to be announced for this smartphone.

JK Shin, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business at Samsung, said, “Our customers told us that they would like to have a bigger display and a better input method so we fulfilled their needs. They said they like advanced features so we built more into the device. The Samsung Wave II has really shown Samsung’s innovative capabilities.”
