Supermodel Naomi Campbell who is facing trial over a ‘blood diamond’ has admitted that she received diamonds from former Liberian president Charles Taylor. The catwalk beauty said that she received a gift of ‘small dirty looking stones’ which turned out to be diamonds.
Campbell further added that those diamonds were given to her by a man whom she thought to be representatives of Taylor. This is contrary to her earlier statement in which Campbell claimed that she never received a diamond from former Liberian president.
However, the 40-year old model revealed that she has given diamonds to director of the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, Jeremy Ratcliffe. She also informed that Ratcliffe has assured her that he still has the stones.
"I just said take them, do something with them, make sure some children benefit from them," she told chief prosecutor Brenda Hollis today in court.
