Motorola has launched its first Android handset, Milestone in India. The handset looks nice and comes with hordes of features. 
 
Motorola Milestone is powered by Android 2.1 and boasts of a nice 5MP camera and 8GB memory card. The set has a hi-resolution pinch and zoom display that can entice the customer.
 
The handset is incorporated with hordes of features like Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail,YouTube, voice based street level navigable service, mobile games and video sharing. Users can also access thousands of apps and widgets from Google's Android store Android Market, unified Google, Microsoft Office and Facebook contacts.
 
A suite of Google mobile applications including Google Search, Google Maps, Gmail and YouTube are integrated into the device. Users also have access to thousands of apps and widgets from Google's Android store Android Market, as well as unified Google, Microsoft Office and Facebook contacts.
 
Faisal Siddiqui, country head, mobile devices, Motorola India, said, "Milestone is targeted at the well informed, socially connected individual. As an Android 2.1 device, Milestone does what other smart phones don't. It was designed to enhance consumer experiences with its full screen web browsing experience, ability to juggle between multiple apps and suite of Google applications."
Motorola Milestone has some of the useful features like preloaded voice based street level navigable service with maps of 401 cities in India. The service works independent of mobile network and can be used without inserting the SIM card.
 
Android OS has been very popular since the launch of HTC Dream handset in October 2008. The OS is an open source platform that can enable any developer to create numerous applications and run on it without any license. India got the first taste of the Android handset with the launch of HTC Magic in July 2009. And now, there are many companies like Samsung and Sony Ericsson also sell Android based phones in India.
 
Motorola Milestone phone is available for the Indian customers at Rs 32,990.
