India’s top most car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has launched the new Wagon R. the latest wagon R comes in three versions, LX, LXi and VXi and is BS-IV complaint model.
According to a company official, the new Wagon R 2010 is available at Rs. 3.30 lac in India. However, this is a gasoline version only. Meanwhile, the company has ruled out any LPG variant in coming days.
As per the information, the company will invest around Rs. 290 crores in the Wagon R to compete with the rivals. Maruti Suzuki Wagon R is the second most selling car in India after the Alto.
Mayank Prateek, executive officer, Marketing and Sales MSIL said, “The company’s investment of Rs. 290 Crores on the project is over and above the money spent by vendors on upgrading their facilities for the car.”
The new Wagon R 2010 comes with a complete new model with many additional features for optimum performance and comfort.
The new Wagon R runs with a new powerful and highly fuel efficient 998 cc K-series engine and would offer high fuel efficiency of 18.9 km/l. The model has features like i-CATS, 4-door central locking and anti-theft alarm system. It also looks wider and spacious. The suspension system and transmission have also been revised by the team.
Speaking on the launch of new Wagon R, Mayank Prateek said, “The company hoped to retain its leadership position with the new Wagon R, which is India’s second largest selling car after Alto.”
The new Wagon R is produced at Maruti Suzuki’s Gurgaon facility.
