Maruti Suzuki has revitalized Suzuki’s Grand Vitara presenting it to Indian customers with a new look and new engine.

Internationally the car did exceptionally well selling over 25 lakh units since it was launched but the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) never really caught on among Indian customers. Some say this was because the SUV was small and cost a hefty Rs. 15 lakh.

The SUV has an improved front-end among other noticeable changes. The new engine promises to deliver more power. The 2.4-litre Variable Valve Timing (VVT) engine pumps out 163.5 bhp @ 6500 rpm while producing a torque of 22.8 kgm @ 4000 rpm to help you get out of ‘sticky’ situations. And to help you out even more is the fact that the SUV is a permanent 4-mode, 4-wheel drive. On the dash, you have instruments such as Multi Information Display (MID) that provides information such as fuel consumption, cruising range and average speed.

The SUV is also claimed to have lower Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) levels.

The car will be available in all parts of the country from today onwards and will be priced between Rs. 16.67 for manual transmission and 17.97 lakh for the automatic version (ex-showroom Delhi).
