Argentine football legend Diego Maradona might avoid his national duty to work for English Premier League club Portsmouth.

Maradona's lawyer Angel Oscar Mayan claimed that Portsmouth's owner Sullivan Al Fathom in a massive fan of Maradona and wants to make him club president.

Mayan believes the ex-Barcelona and Napoleon striker can attract big stars to Frat ton Park.

"Maradona has got top players ready and he is even ready to leave the Argentine national team. Al Fathom wants to build a strong team for which he offers his mediation for signing top level players. With the support of Diego Maradona, they will be ready to come to Portsmouth," Mayan said.

Al Fathom plans to have Maradona sports cafe in the United Arab Emirates and admitted that he would love him to be a boss at Portsmouth.

"I do not know if Maradona is a good coach. What I think is that he should be president of a club and have the right to buy and choose players. At Napoli he started from scratch and built a club. He has the power to transform football teams," Al Fahim said.
