‘Ulaga Nayakan’ Kamal Haasan will be receiving the much-valuable Viswa Kala Bharati award for the outstanding contributions which he has made to the world of Tamil cinema and dance. The award will be given by Bharat Kalachar to the Tamil actor on Dec 11, which will mark the inauguration of 23rd Margazhi Mahotsav.
Carnatic music expert T.V. Sankaranarayanan will be conferred with the Gnana Kala Bharati award for his excellent and most valuable contributions to the field of music.
The persons who will be honoured at this event include B. Saroja Devi with Natya Kaladhar for her contributions on Tamil cinema, K.S. Raghuram with Natya Kaladhar for his choreography in films, V.S. Raghavan with Nadaka Kala Bharathi for Tamil drama, S.V. Ramanan with Kala Seva Bharathi for the Tamil documentary films and television serials, Chitralaya Gopu with Hasya Kala Bharati for contributions to Tamil drama and cinema, Sonal Mansingh with Viswa Kala Bharati for her contributions to Odissi dance as well as C.V. Chandrasekhar with the Acharya Kavla Bharati for his contributions to the world of Bharatanatyam.
