About one month back costly gadgets comprising an iPod, laptop and a BlackBerry phone was stolen which belonged to a guest at Juhi Chawla’s place. A housekeeper has been arrested by the Malabar police with the booty.

 

This incident took place on January 15 when Juhi and her husband Jay Mehta arranged a party at their Malabar Hill residence. An American guest Chuli who was also present at the party later said that gadgets worth Rs 1.5 lakh went missing from her room. A police complaint regarding the matter was also lodged.

 

The police said that for the party Mr.Mehta had called some housekeepers and caterers on contract and about forty people were hired for the day. Though they suspected the involvement of a housekeeper but since they were hired on contract it was difficult to find out the thief.

 

However, the police questioned the contractor and on doing so it was revealed that a housekeeper named Sandeep Anant Bhalerao was housekeeping for Chuli’s room. Upon questioning it was revealed that he stole the items from her room during the party.
