Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry is grateful to his "good genes" and believes his Portuguese heritage is responsible for his long innings in showbiz.

The 60-year-old rocker is still going strong and has revealed that the band has planned another tour after a "breather" in 2010.

"You adjust. I don't do backwards somersaults anymore. But my playing is getting better. And I'm lucky to have some good Mediterranean genes," contactmusic.com quoted him as saying.

Perry had also undergone knee surgery in 2008. Before the surgery he performed in pain for almost three years. He had fallen on stage in Dallas, Texas 23 years ago and the pain had returned to bother him.
