HTC India has released its much expected smartphone, the Legend in Indian market. The smartphone is said to be the true successor to the HTC Hero.

HTC Legend sports 3.2-inch capacitive AMOLED display and runs with Android Eclair 2.1 mobile operating system. Apart from that the device is incorporated with many features like the Sense UI, 5MP camera with LED Flash, accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and digital compass.

The other features with this smartphone include GPS with A-GPS support, 3G networks with HSDPA 900/1200 and quad-band GSM 850/900/1800/1900 networks, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g support and Bluetooth 2.1.

The device looks good in features, but the unibody aluminum enclosure seems poor in reception. It is a well known fact that aluminum isn't good receptor of radio waves.

HTC Legend has the 600MHz Qualcomm processor that is not as fast as Samsung Spica’s 800MHz Qualcomm processor. However, the Legend comes with 384MB RAM and 512MB ROM as compared to the128MB RAM in Spica.

Samsung Spica was priced at Rs. 12,500 approx.

More to it, the Legend has 3.5mm audio jack, Stereo FM radio with RDS for its music lovers. It also offers talktime of up to 7 hours on 2G networks and 6 hours 10 minutes on 3G networks.

HTC Legend has been priced at Rs. 25,990 in India.
