Hema Malini To Remake ‘Mamma Mia’  Hema Malini |
Bollywood’s yesteryear dream girl, Hema Malini, is all geared to come up with the Indian version of the Hollywood musical ‘Mamma Mia’. The Hollywood musical, which had been a hit, had Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth in the ead roles.
This will be the second production of Hema Malini. Esha Deol will also be a part of the movie, which is almost a copy of the original Hollywood musical.
‘Tell Me Oh Khuda’, as it has been titled, is a movie whose plot revolves around the search of a daughter for her ‘real’ father. While Hema herself will be essaying the role what Meryl Streep had essayed in the original one, Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor will also be seen in pivotal roles.
Confirming the news a source said, “Hema has taken a long time to put this project in place. Besides Vinod Khanna and Rishi Kapoor, another prominent actor will soon be added to the film’s cast.”
As to whether the film is a remake of the Hollywood flick ‘Mamma Mia’, the source said, “Although the story is different from ‘Mamma Mia’, people may still think that it is based on the Hollywood musical.”
The movie will have directed by debutant director Mayur Puri, who had been associate director for ‘Dhoom’. The movie is slated to grace the silver screens in 2010.
