HCL ME 40 notebook has been dubbed as India’s first Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) free notebook.  Though there is another notebook called ME-45, still it has some PVC contents in its body.
 
The new HCL notebook sports a 15.4-inch screen and runs with an Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Its LCD screen also supports 1280 x 800 Native resolution. Windows 7 Professional comes preinstalled with the product.
 
According to sources, the ME 40 notebook doesn’t have any harmful materials like PVC and the product is recyclable. The other features associated with this product include 4GB DDR2 RAM, 320GB HDD for storage, Bluetooth, integrated 4-in-1 card reader and four USB ports. There is also a 1.3MP webcam with this notebook.
 
The other features that are associated with this eco-friendly product include One Touch Support feature for better support, One Touch Recovery feature for faster data recovery and 'SPLIT ME' option to transfer large amount of data in a quick time. The notebook offers five hours of talktime.
 
HCL also offers so many features for data security like ‘LOCK ME' that locks the user data to protect against theft. It can block illegal entry to user’s data once enabled. So, copying, editing or transferring of data cannot be performed by the outsiders.
 
HCL ME 40 notebook is available at Rs. 41,500.
