Ford To Recall 5.25 Lakh Windstar Minivans In US, Canada And Other Countries
Ford Motor has announced that it would recall about 5,25,000 vehicles of Windstar minivans in the US, Canada and few other countries. The vehicle reportedly has corrosion-related issues.

So far, according to the company, seven accidents have been recorded. Out of these, five are said to be minor accidents. The defect could also cause problems in steering control.

According to the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), it has received 87 complaints related to corrosion failures while Ford has also received 74 such complaints in the last month.

The owners would be notified by February and would be asked to bring the cars for testing and possible repair if needed.

The Windstar minivan models belonging to the year 1999 to 2003 are reported to have been affected. In the United States alone about 4,25,000 of the Windstars have been registered while in Canada about 1,00,000 are registered. About 750 vehicles were registered in other countries, according to Ford.
