The top seed Dipika Pallikal and Anwesha Reddy ranked 16th, made it safely to the third round of the 13th Junior World squash championship on Wednesday.

Dipika, who has drawn a bye in the first round, easily crushed out Narasha Kingshott (US) in straight games while Anwesha, who also received a first round bye, dropped the second game before tightening up to oust Danielle Letourneau (Canada) in four.

Surbhi Misra also made it to the third round, packed off 25th seed Lisa-Marie Sedlmeier of Germany in mere 18 minutes.

Meanwhile, the Indians fared rather poorly in boy’s singles with only two of the 12 entries surviving the first round. Karan Malik had a fluent win against Belgian Tom de Mulder in three games while Abhishek Pradhan needed over an hour to overcome Hong Kong's Fung Ngo Long in five games after trailing 1-2.
