Music composer Bappi Lahiri is fuming these days and the reason is the upcoming Ajay Devgn, Kajol starrer Toonpur Ka Superrhero. Mr. Lahiri has sent a legal notice to the makers of the new 3D flick and claims that a cartoon character named Gappi who is shown wearing jazzy clothes, dark glasses and lots of gold is a caricaturish representation of him.

Kireet Khurana, the director of the flick confirmed the news and said, ‘Yes, we received the legal notice Friday night that claimed that there were similarities between Bappi-ji and our character Gappi. Our lawyers are working on a suitable response.'

However, Khurana emphasised that the character is inspired from various sources and not specially the musician.

'We have been inspired by many sources. His clothes are like Elvis Presley, the lights on the clothes are like the ones Amitabh Bachchan wore in Yaaraana for the song Saara Zamaana. So there are many elements to his personality.”

'If some similarities are felt then those are completely unintentional. All the characters are original and we had no intention of making a character lampooning anyone,' he said.

Toonpur Ka Superhero is a 3-D animated film written by Raaghi Bhatnagar and directed by Kireet Khurana. It is a story about Ajay and Kajol who enter the world of cartoons.
