Volkswagen, the largest car maker in Europe, has unveiled a new racing car, Race Polo at the recently inaugurated New Delhi Auto Expo.

Volkswagen (VW), the largest car maker in Europe, has unveiled a new racing car, Race Polo at the recently inaugurated New Delhi Auto Expo. The Race Polo will take part in the Volkswagen Polo Cup race event in India starting from June, 2010.
 
The Race Polo which is scheduled to hit the Indian tracks for the next Polo Cup comes with a 1.6L R4 common rail diesel engine with an amazing output of 130 HP@4400 rpm and torque of 250 Nm at an startling speed of 1500-2500 rpm.
 
The new car comes with a 6 speed manual gearbox with 200/605 R17 slick tyres. The Volkswagen Race Polo rides on 200/605 R17 slick tyres and it has a nice aerodynamic body kit with front and rear spoilers, side skirts and rear wing everything that is found in a standard racing car.
 
Apart from that, the company has equipped the Race Polo with a 6 point seatbelt, safety net for the driver and additional display to provide an easy view for the driver. More to it, there are some other features like the data logger system with on board camera and race brake system with four piston fixed caliper and ventilated 312mm front disks and 232 mm rear disc brakes. 
 
As per company information, the new VW Race Polo is meant to be on race tracks with FIA approved specifications such as roll cage, fire extinguisher system, race brake and electrical cut off system, which make it a complete car to enjoy.
