After coming under Emami Group's umbrella, Zandu Pharma has joined the Indian Premier League (IPL) team 'Mumbai Indians' as associate sponsor for 2009 and 2010. In return Zandu Pharma will promote its brand through various marketing campaigns. Zandu will also have the right to utilize 'Mumbai Indians' logos and marks in its advertising and communications.

 

Idea Cellular is the main sponsor of the IPL team 'Mumbai Indians' along with other sponsors like Mastercard. The IPL franchise is owned by Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Industries. Talking on this occasion, Harsh Agarwal, MD, Zandu Pharma, said that, Zandu will promote some key brands through iconic players of the Mumbai Indians team including Sachin Tendulkar, Zaheer Khan, Harbhajan Singh and Sanath Jayasuriya.

 

Harsh also said that, Zandu brand name will be embossed on the top right of the uniforms of the players. On offer from Zandu Pharmaceutical Works, Emami has recently acquired its brands such as Zandu balm, Kesari Jeevan and Zandu Chyawanprash. The fast moving consumer goods arm, Emami manufactures and markets brands such as Boroplus, Navratna, Fair and Handsome, Sona Chandi Chyawanprash, Mentho Plus, and Himani Fast Relief.
