Indian cricket team’s vice captain Yuvraj Singh has been invited for the Euro 2008, which is now underway in Austria and Switzerland. The cricketer is now set to rub shoulders with the top footballers of Europe, rather the world. Yuvraj may now be seen with top class players like Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Ricardo Carvalho and Philippe Senderos.
The Indian cricketer has been invited to present the man of the match award in Basle on June 15 after the Switzerland vs Portugal match. A release from Carlsberg, one of the sponsors of the European Championship states that Yuvraj will be the chief guest at the presentation party for the June 15 match at Basel. Yuvraj is currently in Dhaka, Bangladesh taking part in the tri-series involving India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. After India winning the match against Pakistan on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 it can be assumed that India has strong chances of playing the finals, which is on June 14 in Bangladesh. If such be the case then, Yuvraj will have to immediately board a flight to Basel to reach in time for the ceremony. The agents of the famed cricketer maintain that he will be able to make it to Euro 2008.
