The spat between Yash Raj Films (YRF) and the multiplexes over distribution of profits made at the box office is finally over! Tashan, which happens to be the newest release from this production house, will now get shown at multiplexes all over India. It is learnt that after so much hullabaloo YRF settled down on the customary revenue sharing ratio of 48, 40 and 30 in the first three weeks of the film's release. This same ratio applies for film revenue-sharing with other distributors also. A source from the multiplex association, who did not want to be identified, pointed out that the multiplexes have clearly emerged as the winner in this case.

The source said that Yash Raj used to arm-twist the multiplexes by demanding a bigger pie in the film revenue amassed from the box office. The YRF Company has accepted that an understanding has been reached between the production house and multiplexes for the entire YRF slate of films for the year 2008. Barring the exception of Chak De India, the time period between 2007 and 2008 has not been a very good one for the Yash Raj Film Company financially. None of its film has been able to do good business at the box office.
