With the recent introduction of Voice Search facility on mobile, Yahoo has become the first prominent search engine which permits people to search the web or the Internet by talking with their mobile phones. Christened as ‘oneSearch’, the technology of Yahoo voice search has been developed by a Massachusetts start-up.
It is designed to allow users of popular PDAs like BlackBerry Curves, Pearls or the 8800 series to search the Internet with their voice. The executive vice-president of Yahoo, Marco Boerries has remarked that the new Yahoo voice search facility will majorly change the way people are accessing the internet on their cell phones.
Marco Boerries further added that Yahoo was endeavoring to make the voice search service available on other mobile devices and overseas. The Yahoo company officials have stated that Yahoo oneSearch can handle any spoken question, is designed to adapt to a person’s voice and will only get better with time.
