Shot in 1971, Yaar Meri Zindagi will finally hit theatres in India after a gap of 37 years. Amitabh and Shatrughan’s film was slated to release back in the 1970’s and later in the 1990’s, but due to financial hurdles and a court case the release continued to be delayed. Later this month cinema lovers can find Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha together in a film after a gap of 28 years. Ashok Gupta, the Director of the film finished it by 1994 but then got engaged in a legal battle with the financier of the film.
The Director revealed that Amitabh Bachchan had been roped in for the movie even before he had signed ‘Anand’. After Anand, Amitabh became a star and got busy with other movies, which too contributed in a delay in the film due to lack of dates from Amitabh. Amitabh and Shatrughan Sinha were last seen together in Yash Johar’s ‘Dostana’. Shatrughan Sinha, according to the Director, was more forthcoming and readily gave dates for the completion of the film. Amitabh is, however, aware about the release of the film and commented that the film has changed several titles since both the actors started working on it. The superstar also mentioned that he is looking forward to see a younger him in the film.
