An interesting finding has been made by a latest study which reveals that women think of shopping as frequently as men think about sex. The latest survey by the online fashion magazine Cosmopolitan revealed that seventy four percent of women think about shopping every minute. Previous studies claim to support the widely held belief that young men think about sex every 52 seconds, while the subject crosses some women’s mind only once a day.
Thoughts of buying a new dress or a much sought after pair of shoes pops in the mind of a young woman every 60 seconds. The study was conducted over 778 women, aged 19 to 45. On average, those surveyed spent at least 30 percent of their annual incomes on shopping. Psychologist Jane Prince of the University of Glamorgan about the finding remarked that people think about things which bring them pleasurable feelings and the pleasure is usually in anticipating and planning. In the survey it was also discovered that nearly half of the women kept their shopping escapades secret from their partner to hide their level of spending.
