Leading software company, Wipro Technologies has set up a virtual innovation centre for testing services. According to a statement of the company, the innovation centre at Bangalore will provide a virtual view of Wipro's Internet Protocol (IP)-powered solutions. The new centre will be utilised for testing services on Second Life, which is a free three-dimensional virtual world. Second Life allows its users to socialise, connect and create using voice and text chat.
Wipro informed that the innovation centre is a replica of the original lab at company's campus in Bangalore. Wipro vice-president for testing services C.P. Gangadharaiah said that new centre will showcase Wipro's innovative and IP solutions to customers and partners located across the globe. He added that the innovation center will provide a virtual tour of the testing labs.
According to Gangadharaiah, it is very important to come with innovative solutions for the customers and partners to keep the company ahead of others. He expects that the virtual centre will help Wipro to create an environment that has technology and testing transformational value. The new centre will focus on incubating testing solution IPs that ensure 40-50 percent cost and capital investments reduction for clients.
