IT giant Microsoft Corp on Thursday (June 4) announced the release of its Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Toolkit. The new tool-kit from Microsoft comes with feature like emulator images for SKU such as Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Square Emulator, QVGA Emulator, WQVGA Emulator. Windows Mobile 6.5 Developer Toolkit will also offer Emulator images available for locales such as Chinese, USA English, German, French, Italian and Spanish.
 
The new tool-kit is also equipped with touch and gesture APIs, which will enable the application developers to take advantage of the new Windows Mobile 6.5 touch gesture framework. The new set of APIs in the tool-kit will allow application to handle touch gesture input and provide a visually consistent experience with the rest of the device UI. The gesture APIs are only available on the Windows Mobile Classic and Professional SKUs.
 

In order to use the Windows Mobile 6.5 Toolkit, one has to install the Windows Mobile 6 SDK.  The kit is for developers building applications for Windows Mobile 6.5.  It adds documentation, sample code, header and library files, and emulator images and tools to Visual Studio.
