The William sisters – Serena and Venus– of the United States ousted French Open champions Anabel Medina Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual of Spain on Sunday, August 17, to win gold in the Women's Doubles Tennis at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The score was 6-2, 6-0. Serena and Venus happen to be the reigning Wimbledon champions.
