West Indies beat England by 5 wickets in a rain curtailed match. The Windies are through to the semi-finals. England won the toss and chose to bat. It was Bopara and Pietersen once again for England. They added 56 runs for the second wicket. Bopara scored 55 off 47 balls.

England scored 161/6 but the team could not capitalise on a good start. The middle order did not contribute much. After the English innings, rain came down heavily. The match was reduced to 9 overs. The target for the Windies was 80 off 9 overs.

It was a bad start for the Windies. Fletcher scored third duck in a row. Gayle looked threatening in the beginning. It looked as if he wanted to finish the match off single-handed. He was yorked by Sidebottom. The Windies were reduced to 16/3. England had sniff of victory at that stage. The loss of composure of the top order almost cost Windies the match.

The experience of Sarwan and Chanderpaul saw the team through. The pair added 37 runs for the sixth wicket. South Africa, West Indies, and Pakistan have reached the semis. The fight will be between New Zealand and Sri Lanka for the remaining spot.
