The trio have proved that they can do it. Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, who are famous for their melodious super hit songs in movies such as "Kal Ho Naa Ho" and "Taare Zameen Par", have given some cool songs in "Wake Up Sid”. “Wake Up Sid” is a Karan Johar film which brings Ranbir Kapoor and Konkona Sen Sharma for the first time.
There are six songs, of which one is a remix.
The first song, "Aaj kal zindagi" is a soft, comforting and inspirational song for which Shankar Mahadevan has lent his. The complete punch of the song is felt s the song end because of the increase in tempo.
The next song is "Iktara", which can be considered as the best song from this movie. This song has been composed in such a way that is a perfect blend of western and rustic music. The best feature of this song is that it gives the audience a heavy dose of guitar strumming. Kavitha Seth has crooned for this song along with Amitabh Bhattacharya. Iktara has been composed by guest composer Amit Trivedi of DevD fame.
The next song,m "Kya karoon", in the voice of Clinton Cerejo is an average, feel-good kind of a number. It is his unique voice that has added the zing to this particular number.
The next is a peppy number "Life is crazy", sung by Uday Benegal and Shankar Mahadevan. The number is a song belonging to the contemporary genre and will be a chartbuster hit.
The last song is the title track. "Wake Up Sid", crooned by Mahadevan himself. This sweet and entertaining song comes with a strong musical backing. The song starts with a fast tempo which goes down in between and then rises up again. That is what makes this song an interesting one.
This song comes with a remix also, which is interesting despite not belonging to the typical add-more-beats genre.
In short, the trio have maintained their style and have been able to live up to the expectations of music lovers.
