Volkswagen a big name in European car market has decided to enter into Indian car market with its pre-owned car business where according to the company Maruti and Hyundai are leading the way. The decision has come when company has already decided to come up with compact car in coming years in Indian car market.
Makham Dhalivaal, MD (VW Passenger Cars) talking to media said that pre-owned cars would be a key part of company’s business and would also open up fresh revenue streams for its dealers. Further he added that it is a good business opportunity and an excellent way to get people into your brand portfolio and the used car business would open customers to come for change to VW cars.
Factually, Volkswagen would come up with its factory at Chakan in Maharashtra with the investment of 2400 crores and will produce volume cars from here. Adding to his statement Dhaliwal said that India is an important market for VW and late entry would not hold back his company as the VW has learned from mistakes that other companies have made.
Its worth to mention that there is already an existing market for pre-used cars and major companies like Ford, Maruti, Hyundai, and Honda already have the concept. Though not new in concept the action will determine the level of aggression in VW tactics to grapple Indian market through its aggressive plans, and this one is first of them.
