Volkswagen is mulling over launching its microbus concept, Bulli, for the Indian market, sources said.

“We have just showcased Bulli (MPV) in the Geneva Motor Show, which could be an ideal vehicle for India in the future, given its huge flexibility options for any consumer,” a source quoted Volkswagen’s Ulrich Hackenberg as saying.

The microbus concept was first planned in 2001, but was later dropped due to various reasons. Volkswagen, however, does not seem to abandon the project completely. Yes, recall the Geneva Motor Show 2011 auto event, in which Volkswagen revealed its Bulli multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).

The MPV should be inspired from the microbus concept and it certainly reminds Volkswagen’s microbus concept. The new Bulli MPV comes as a two-row, three-seater vehicle. The car has spacious interiors and neatly designed exteriors. Reminds you of something? Bulli shares its looks with Toyota Innova. So if the company goes ahead with this plan of launching the vehicle in India, it would directly compete with Toyota Innova.
